The McGill Biotechnology Graduate Students Society will be holding its seventh annual BioConnect symposium this year under the theme “Today's Passion, Tomorrow's Innovation” to facilitate an ongoing discussion on the current advances in the biotechnology sector.
Last year's event, “From Bench to Bedside”, focused on the practical applications of biotechnology research, as well as the importance of complementary fields such as commercialisation, marketing, and intellectual property. The event attracted more than 200 participants from both industry and the university milieu (McGill and other universities) as well as an impressive lineup of speakers from the financial, regulatory, scientific, and McGill communities.
This year’s event will take place on November 3rd, 2017 at McGill University's New Residence Hall and will include presentations by invited experts in various biotechnology-related fields, an in-depth panel discussion, a poster presentation competition, and a networking cocktail. We extend our invitation to the interdisciplinary biotechnology community that wishes to learn about and discuss the challenges that the Canadian Biotech industry is currently facing, with an emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and application.
